Your First Domain Name

Domains For Internet Marketers

Your First Domain Name - DanielCortes.com

If you are a so called ‘newbie’ to Internet Marketing and you intend to set up your own online business, it is imperative that you deal with the main technicalities which are the core of your online business.

No matter if you intent to do affiliate marketing, run your own e-commerce store or go after CPA offers, all models of online money making need a website, a way to "live" in the digital world.

The name you call your website is referred to as a DOMAIN. This is your very first step to creating your own website or landing page where you'll be able to showcase your offer but most importantly, to cultivate and build your list.

The very first domain you should considering buying is your own name domain, as in YourName.com. Even if you are not sure what this site should be about or what it will become, secure YourName.com as soon as possible.

If you stay for the long run, believe you'll be glad you got YourName.com available in your domain arsenal and .COM is important. Not crucial, but important for branding.

Your domain name will be your www website address and the fee is around $9-$12 per year for dot com domains. This is the main reason I like to use NameCheap.com over other registrars.

I got my name domain back in 2006... Oh where does time go?!

Back then I only did it for having a cool email address. :-)

But getting back to Namecheap.com, Right now, August 2020, you can get your domain for $8.88/year at Namecheap.com. I paid pretty much the same price back in 2006 and they do an amazing job at keeping prices competitive. Renewals will build up on ou lver time so you want to keep fixed costs at the minimum.

To purchase your domain name, head on to NameCheap.com to purchase your very first domain name. Type your name in the search box and you'll get all the available extensions. Make sure you get .COM as this is the most valuable name extension.

If for some reason your name is not available, try a variant of your name or the .NET or .ORG extensions. Avoid weird extensions for your main site.

When you have decided on your domain name, click SEARCH and make sure the domain name is available. If the domain name is available, then you can proceed to purchase it.

Click on the “Cart” icon and then click on VIEW CART (a red button on the right side of the page) to continue your purchase.

You will then arrive at the checkout page. All you need to do now is to confirm your order. Proceed with your payment.

Congrats! You have now successfully purchased your domain name.

Until next time... Never Give Up!
